A visual look: Aftermarket exhaust with stock fuel tables

A visual look: Aftermarket exhaust with stock fuel tables

Here's a really good visual of how an aftermarket exhaust requires drastically different fuel tables.
These examples are the initial front cylinder data logs on an '08 1125 with Jardine slip-on.
The base map I started with is the BDDFI-III Performance calibration - it was perfect with the stock exhaust targeting, in general, 13.5:1
With the stock exhaust, we set the front AFV (static) at 102 in the performance calibration. This example was so lean I added 8% to the AFV (global adjustment) just to find a happy median, so this is with a 110 (static) AFV.
Notice the rich areas and the lean areas.
Some cells in the 3600 & 4000 RPM column will require 20-24% more fuel!
Other areas that are rich will require up to 10% less.

Even if you were running stock with closed loop enabled (O2 sensor feedback active), the ECM can only adjust via a global shift of the map via the learning mode and regions.
The ECM will not be able to even come close to fixing these rich and lean areas via the stock learning capabilities. It can't add some here and take away some there.

This one is after I did some initial adjustments, then went back out and did more comprehensive data logging. A little better but needs a lot of work. Shows some higher TPS/RPM's.
Of course, this was not done on public roads, I have access to a track for testing.

Very Cool visual explanation. I was seeing the same thing on the Dyno while monitoring the AFV with my D&D. Lots of fuel had to be added.
