If you want to discuss tuning - well that's why we have this site. Tell your friends, and come on over here and talk tuning cause that's why it's here! Everyone's welcome to ask questions and seek advice from others, and like always I'll give it my all.

A lot of effort has gone into this project with more to come, and I feel that I ask little in monetary compensation for it's use, compared to what has gone into it. I'd like to thank all of you who believe in what I'm doing and support this effort. I'm moving forward with some new ideas and developments that should hopefully help us all in the community.

As you may have read, I have been working with Western Reserve developing a really nice performance calibration for the 1125's. Preliminary dyno testing shows we can get quite a bit more power from the ECM, without adding any parts. One only wonders what we will end up with in gains with tuning, and the addition of a good exhaust like Easyriders or another soon to be released home grown exhaust system :)
I've also been working on development of a program that will allow us to directly flash this complete performance calibration into the ecm without any manual entry, so stay tuned.

Thank you all,
XB9fog

This is Teach's Dyno run with some preliminary tweaking. We are getting close to 14-15HP gain at 8K.

I am offering "Remote Services", where I connect to your computer remotely (attached to your bike) and help you do the work, all you have to do is have the cable and install it. There's an easy to use program called Teamviewer that gives me the ability to operate your computer from mine. It seems a lot of people really don't want to mess with the technical/computer side of this so I'd like to respond to those that feel it's just too much to deal with and provide an additional service for them. PM or email me if you are interested in this additional service. Although this would not be feasible for data logging and tuning, it would allow me to help you make some key changes to the basic configuration and gain noticeable improvements without re-mapping.

VERY impressive! Those are some really nice gains, and you seem to have maintained a pretty smooth curve as well! Have you changed out any parts, or are these results being obtained from a completely stock bike? What happened to your "after" run below about 4,750 RPM? What A/F ratio are you guys working toward?

Have you tested this out already? If not, I'll be your guinea pig if you've not got one. I am confortable making the changes you posted in regards to "6 easy steps", but would be happy to at least let you connect in to see if there are any connectivity issues or specific security features that need disabled in XP.

Update 02/22/09:

Just wanted to let you guys know I've been working hard on the new SW program that will burn this new Performance Calibration directly to the ecm.
I've progressed to the point that I've got all the major coding hurdles solved and the program burns modified values to an ecm - tested and proven with an old XB test bench harness & ECM! :) :)
Still have some grunt work programming to do, but at this point it IS doable and will be done.
This opens the door to EASY custom calibrations to be flashed to the ECM within a couple of minutes and no manual data entry involved.

Ponti1000, I've used Teamviewer many times for supporting remote personnel, there shouldn't be any issues. Thanks for the offer, When I get this new program done I might take you up on that. Gotta get it done first though.

Here's a pdf of the lastest dyno charts of the Performance Tune - after the last set of tweaks, it's gone on the rich side so we need to back off the AFV lock, and then fine tune it. You can see the torque curve has improved bottom and mid range, along with the top end horsepower is now at 136.80HP and torque is at 79.62. Stock numbers were 124.23 and 69.91 Around +20 HP at 8K Huge gains for tuning alone and we should be able to get a little more..

Here's a screen shot teaser of things to come It will allow anyone to easy flip back and forth from stock to a performance calibration:

The intended use of this program is:
1. Stock calibration for public street and highway use to comply with local, state, and federal emission standards.
2. Allow the owner to switch to a Performance Calibration for track days, drag strip, racing; any use except public highway use.

Tampering with emission control systems on vehicles that are used on public highways is a violation of federal, state, and local regulations.

The information on this website and BDDFI-III Software is intended for vehicles that are to be used for racing/off highway use only and not for public highway use. OFF ROAD USE ONLY!!

+1 on the words concerning sponsoring another website!

Many developers and tuners would not be in the position that they are now without the tools that you've created.

I'm behind BDDFI-III 100% and can't wait to see and ride the final results! Good times!!!!!!!!!

This sounds great! If I'm understanding this correctly, this is a finished tune that we are able to load directly into the ecm ... and if needed we will still be able to use the BDDFI-3 to fine tune it. Am I on the right track here? Will this work at any climate or elevation? Am I correct in assuming that closed loop is disabled with this tune?

How much $$$ and when will this be available? I have ecm spy loaded on the laptop along with the usb cable. I just need the dealership to finish up with the bike.

Thankyou xb9fog for the update, this is exciting news!

Sounds pretty great, XB9!! I assume the flash utility will come at some cost, since it's including the performance tune. Do you yet have in mind what the ballpark cost might be? Any chance of a discounted rate for folks that also own the BDDFI-3, or perhaps a bundled price for new customers that want both products?

Very exciting times, and Spring is right around the corner...

Last note, I just found out that Youngstown (Biketown HD) has a dyno, so I will be planning some trips out there to talk with them about their experience level and willingness to work with me on tuning the 1125. Trying to make a mitigation plan in the event Western Reserve doesn't end up executing on the plans they were working on.

Pont1000, Western Reserve is committed to working with me on developing the Performance Calibration, and they will be able to do the fine tune if you want that.
They will be the exclusive dealer that can do this, and since they are making a substantial investment in developing this they deserve our business.
I can't tell you how much I appreciate their help and commitment. Great dealership.

Helicon, answer yes to all your questions.

It will be discounted to current 1125 BDDFI-III Tuner users. Pricing has yet to be determined.
